 The Spirtuality of a river

The Spirtuality of a river

This is of me ascending to the surface in Campbell River, BC. This creates a very spirtual shot with the sunlight shining through the crook of my arms, contrasting with the darkness of the surrrounding rocks.

Solitude

Solitude

Gordon, my partner, casually floating in on his stomach, somewhere between 10-15 ft. This photograph, I find quite successful as the background helps with the main vocal point (Gordon) to balance the picture quite evenly; I quite value the slight glow from his gloves.

Bubbly

Bubbly

This, though taken accidently, I found to have turned out very beautifully descending in the Breakwater, Ogden Point; mainly because of the bubbles and their turnout with the daylight shining through them.

Breakwater Beauty

Breakwater Beauty

Beautiful kelp that looks very clear along with the translucent background of water and sea plants (top left corner). I like this photo as it reveals how beauty isn't always flawless.

Beauty of Sea Kelp

Beauty of Sea Kelp

Rising to the surface in Ogden Point,  Breakwater, Victoria, and I found a perfect layout for a picture. I love this photo for the clear resolution of the water and sea kelp. Thus, I didn't feel the need to retouch it in any way.

Turtle Gliding

Taken, at depths ranging from 50-60ft, this turtle appears to be gliding down to the ocean floor.

My sister, Fallyn free diving about 2-4ft below the surface, the crystal clear water provides a beautiful backdrop for the vivid coral and bubbles.

The Solitary Turtle

The Solitary Turtle

The turtle's reflection provides an alter ego of itself, situated at 2-4ft below the surface, the sunlight gives off rays that appear to be filtering throughout the water, illuminating the surrounding ocean landscape.

A Turtle's Reflection

A Turtle's Reflection

The turtle has its reflection appearing on the surface. I found this photograph to be quite unique considering the specimen being photographed is consumed of just the turtle and nothing else.

Born Free

Born Free

There appears to be a halo of light surrounding the turtle, while the turtle is crystal clear, its surroundings appear blurred and distant.

The Brain of the Ocean

The Brain of the Ocean

The brain coral of Kauai are equally unique and plentiful, they are outlined with purple and appear muddy brown, they contrast exceedingly well with the outstanding blues of the Kauai ocean.

The Distant Turtle

The Distant Turtle

If you look very closely you will spot a turtle situated on the upper top part of this photo. I find this utterly unique compared to my other photographs as one has to look for the main focus of the photo. As opposed to simply finding it up-close-and-personal.

The Sea Turtle

The Sea Turtle

This particular sea turtle appears to be gliding in its marine environment. Looking up at this amazing animal provides for an eerily beautiful shot.

The Caves

The Caves

The Caves of Kauai are mysterious and unique in the many species of fish who linger nearby, at a maximum depth of 60ft.

The Big Blue

The Big Blue

The view from open underwater caverns with the sun reflecting off the surface creates a gorgous illumination for this particular shot.

A Scuba Diver

A Scuba Diver

This shot depicts my scuba partner. The sun filters in through the water, and the ocean gives the outer edges of the sun's reflection a lighter blue tint. The colour composition of this photo includes lighter, vibrant colours towards the surface; and darker, somber colours at the bottom.

The Illusion

The Illusion

Taken at a maximum depth of 30-40ft, the bubbles from my buddy, Christina mysteriously rise up from the coral; hence giving it the impression of an illusion.

Hide-N-Seek

Hide-N-Seek

An Advanced Dive Course

As the name suggests, these hoops are beneficial for divers undertaking to receive their Advanced Diver specialization credit. Diver's training for being an advanced diver will swim through the hoops in order to maintain their buoyancy. My partner, Christina, is skirting around its perimeters exploring.

An Abundance of Coral

In Kauai, different species of coral are vibrant in colours and numbers, they are home to sea urchins and fish. Diver's will see coral covering the ocean floor, for the majority of their sea exploration.
